Appointments

Gateway Medical Group is open Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm at its two locations, National City and Chula Vista.

Patient Forms

 

We encourage that our patients arrive 15 minutes early to fill out forms and to verify address, contact information, and insurance information. Forms can be downloaded online and filled out prior to appointment time for convenience:

Insurances

Gateway Medical Group recognizes that there are a great many who are in need of medical care, and it strives to provide medical assistance to as many people as it can. Understandably, there are circumstances in which appointment cancellations will be necessary. Please notify us a minimum of 24 hours ahead of time if you are unable to attend your appointment time to free up a visit for other patients and to avoid a $25 no show fee.

Referrals

 

In the event that referral to a specialist or specialty service is necessary, a prior authorization is submitted to your insurance company for review. Once approved, your insurance will send you a letter in the mail with the telephone number of your specialist's office for you to call to set up your appointment. The referral process usually takes 7-10 business days. Appointment availability of each specialist, however, may vary. For questions or concerns regarding referrals or prior authorizations, please contact our office at 619-527-7700 Ext 119.

Laboratory Services

 

Gateway Medical Group uses Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp, and Sharp Laboratories. Those with Sharp insurances should go to a Sharp laboratory.

Radiology Services

 

Gateway Medical Group uses both San Diego Imaging and Imaging Health Care

Hospital, Emergency, and On-Call Services

 

Many chronic and acute medical conditions can be managed in a primary care setting out of the hospital, but should you have a critical or life threatening issue, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1. Gateway Medical Group offers telephone medical advice after office hours and weekends from one of our clinicians should you have any questions.
